Thanks to a post by Giulio on the NewtonTalk mailing list, my Newton MessagePad 2100 with Blunt and a Pico Card is entirely stable. Transferring notes from the Newton to my MacBook Pro has been extremely fast and very reliable (although you can only send one note at a time).
The solution: Freeze SysPatch 0.6b.
Either I, or somebody else on the list, will investigate to see if it’s any of SysPatch’s particular features that causes the restarts or if the package is just incompatible.
Happiness. :D
Could you document your steps and package versions and installation order? I have hard-reset brainwipe eMate and cannot get the Sphinx PICO to work. Help!
Thanks.

At the time, version 0.7.6 of the Blunt Bluetooth drivers was the only version that worked correctly with the Pico card. 0.7.7 was out, but there was some issue with it (I recall something along the lines of a crash with discovery or pairing).
As noted in my original Bluetooth progress report, I had followed the setup instructions on WikiWikiNewt. It’s down at the moment, but you can still find it on archive.org.
I haven’t dared upgrade to version 1.0, but I’ve got a spare 2100 that I could configure from scratch. I’ll have to pick up a USB-to-Serial adapter to do so as none of my retro gear is really hooked up at the moment.
